    "On June 7 [1899], Angel Salazar, president of the Antique Provincial Council, appeared in Cabatuan and reiterated his allegiance to the Federal State of the Visayas."

  • On October 30, 1899, Gen. Martin Delgado y Bermejo sent a letter from Cabatuan to Señor Angel Salazar regarding the arrival of American reinforcements, the expected advance of the Americans to the interior pueblos, and the planned establishment of bases of supplies in selected towns to meet this eventuality.

    Sa edad na 24, hinirang siya ni Hen. Fullon at ng mga kasamahan sa rebolusyon bilang gobernador noong Nobyembre, 1898.[see Biography of Leandro Fullon on Google and Binirayan Souvenir Program, dated 1990] Sa Panahong Amerikano:

  • Naglingkod bilang lieutenant governor noong 1901 sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Holbrook

  • Nahalal bilang gobernador at naglingkod 1904-09

  • Siya ay hinalal at naging kinatawan (assemblyman / asambleista) ng Antique, 1909-12 at nahalal muli at naglingkod, 1912-16 [see National Assembly Philippines]

  • Nanalo muli bilang kinatawan (representative / representante) at naglingkod, 1922-25 [see House of Representatives Philippines]

    Mas nakilala siya sa titulong "delegate" ng maging isa sa mga kinatawan ng Antique sa pagbalangkas ng Saligang Batas (Constitution) 1935 na naisulat noong 1934

    Ipinanganak ang naturang mambabatas at gobernador sa Barrio Poblacion, Culasi, Antique noong 1874. Ang kaniyang mga magulang ay sina Don Eulalio Sumugat Salazar na naglingkod noong 1883-86, 1889-90 bilang Culasi gobernadorcillo ('town mayor' ang tawag sa kasalukuyan) at Doña Emilia Palacios Abiera, kapuwa taga-Culasi
