MOUNT TINAG, [LEYTE] August 11, 1900.
Seņor AMBROSIO MOXICA.
My RESPECTED AND DEAREST UNCLE:
* * * * * *
I can inform you that the American enemy within the jurisdiction
of the pueblos of my command are no longer doing as before causing
damage without ceasing, [it is] only the traitorous police who are attacking
us.
News has come from the pueblos of this province, where the Americanistas
are more frequently seen, that the latter are beginning to leave
their respective pueblos, seemingly they are beginning to look towards
the future and besides they fear us because I have warned all my soldiers
and bolomen that whenever a real Americanista, like the police
and volunteers, is caught he will be killed; the result is that every day
they are killing traitors to our country.

Accept countless remembrances and an embrace from your Godchild
and nephew who awaits your blessing and kisses your hands.
(Signed) HONESTO RUIZ. (?)
