HENRY TO DAVIS, OCTOBER 13, 1902

[Confidential.]

FORT RILEY, KANS., October 13, 1902.

Gen. GEO. B. DAVIS,
Judge-Advocate-General, U. S. Army.

DEAR GENERAL: In reply to your letter of October 6, 1902, regarding Padre Augustine de la Peņa, I must say that I have no knowedge of the allegations cited therein. In regard to the latter part of the letter, I had a brief acquaintance with Padre Augustine early in 1900, but this was of such a nature that I am afraid it would be of little value in attempting to prove his attitude either for or against the insurrection or his active participation therein.

Very sincerely and respectfully,

GUY V. HENRY,
First Lieutenant and Squadron Adjutant, Fourth Cavalry.
